the website hasn't been updated in awhile, but with the new year comes a new effort for me to actually maintain my online calendar...Two pieces of news: I have finished the first semester of the DMA program in Contemporary Improvisation at New England Conservatory. I'll be presenting my first DMA Recital there on March 7, 2017, featuring original pieces for small ensembles, a performance of Christian Wolff's For 1, 2, or 3 People, and possibly a performance of John Zorn's game piece Hockey.
In other news, I have started a new monthly music series at Outpost 186 in Cambridge, MA, called the Ad hoc Music Series. I am co-curating along with Grant Beale, Steven Long, and Drew Wesely, and alternate months feature bands from CT and MA sharing the bill or free improvisation nights with ourselves and guest artists (the second half of these shows will be open to improvisers who want to play, so bring your instrument if interested!). The Ad hoc Music Series takes place on the 3rd Sunday of every month; the next one is January 15, 2017. See you there!
I am excited to introduce you to deohbimusic.com, where I'll be posting all sorts of info related to my music, upcoming performances, and current projects. On that note, please check out the website for a group that has been very important to me over the past year or so: Dagrasida. This group is comprised of some of my best friends and musical collaborators, Grant Beale, Silvain Castellano, and Dave Campbell, and we're planning to bring lots of music and art to you in the very near future. Also feel free to check out our Facebook page, in addition to my own Facebook page.
